Why Microsoft just isn't ready to take on Google yet...

For the curious, I was searching for BootVis. The same search on Google. Chalk one down for Office humor I guess.

Actually, Microsoft is MUCH smarter than Google. It realized that you have got married, and is asking you if you are thinking of booties. VERY logical. It might even say, "Did Swati mean: booties?"

Give MS the bootie and stick with Google!

By the way, does this Bootvis thing really work?

Produces fancy graphs on various metrics - disk usage, cpu usage, mem usage, logs driver startup sequence, program startup sequence. You can correlate CPU usage with the program startup sequence and find the program that takes the most CPU for example.

Useful diagnostic tool if you are developing a startup loading Windows app, or like me trying to speed up the PC. I have no idea why MS discontinued it, pretty handy.

You should be searching here -> http://search.msn.com/

http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=Bootvis&FORM=QBHP

I point you to the "Powered by MSN Search" logo above the search bar.

"Powered by MSN Search" - MSN search will search microsoft.com. not other sites in search.microsoft.com.

Correct me if I am wrong :)

All I wanted was the BootVis product page on Microsoft.com, why would I be looking on search.msn.com

Anyway, Microsoft is confused as hell about what it wants MSN to be. Why does it have to be search.msn.com. I don't see a search.google.com - I see Google kicking serious MS ass for a while.

http://www.google.co.in/search?q=BootVis+site%3Amicrosoft.com

That does better than the MS Site search.

did you try live.com??

Tell me, why doesn't MS have one search engine project? Does that mean that each of these URLS, microsoft.com, search.msn.com and live.com are each powered by a different search engine. Aren't they sure which is the best?

not sure about others, but live is still beta. its a full suite of applications
